Product overview

The LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Set is a hands-on STEAM kit designed for lower-secondary classrooms. Its 528 pieces combine colourful LEGO® bricks with a programmable hub, motors and sensors, so students can design and build working models and robots and then control them with code.

Programming is done in the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ App, which starts with Scratch-based drag-and-drop blocks and lets students move on to text-based Python when they are ready. Activities range from easy entry projects to open-ended design challenges that build problem-solving, critical thinking and teamwork, whatever a student's starting level.

The set is supported by more than 50 hours of curriculum-aligned learning inside the app, together with classroom activities, getting-started materials and teacher resources. It suits regular lessons, coding clubs and FIRST® LEGO® League teams, and can be extended with the SPIKE™ Prime Expansion Set.

Computer Science & AI Kit, Grades 3–5

The LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI Kit for grades 3–5 is a classroom-ready, standards-aligned kit that lets a group of four students learn computing concepts by building and coding physical LEGO® models. Each kit holds 321 LEGO® bricks, building instructions, a double motor, a colour sensor, a connection card and a USB charging cable in a sturdy stackable box. Students code in Coding Canvas, a lightweight web app (also available on iOS) with icon- and word-based blocks. Lessons are opened with a PIN, so no student logins are needed, and projects are saved locally. AI-based computer vision features introduce how computers learn from data in a safe, age-appropriate way. The free Teacher Portal provides 30 lessons across six units — Basics, Events, Loops, Conditionals, Variables, and AI & Data — each with four lessons and a design challenge. Ready-made presentations, facilitation notes and built-in formative assessment help each lesson fit into a single class period.
