Product overview

VEX AIM is a coding robot designed for computer science education in middle and high school classrooms. It arrives ready to use, so lessons can focus on coding rather than building. With its AI Vision Sensor and omnidirectional drive, AIM can move in any direction, recognize objects and AprilTags, and kick, catch and carry items.

The robot has a multilingual color touchscreen, 36 emojis, a speaker, programmable LED lights, and a gyro, accelerometer and wheel encoders for precise navigation. A kicker lets it pick up and place barrels and catch or kick the sports ball. Students can drive it with the included one-stick controller, code it with on-robot buttons, or program it with VEXcode Blocks, Switch or Python, as well as Visual Studio Code with the VEX extension. Programs download over Bluetooth or USB, and robots can communicate with each other via Bluetooth.

The kit includes the AIM robot, storage case, controller, USB cable, three orange and three blue barrels, two sports balls and five AprilTag signs. An intro course, STEM Labs and an optional AIM Field support classroom use.

    VEX GO Robot Kit

The VEX GO Robot Kit (VEX GO Education Kit with Storage, 269-6705) is a single-robot construction system designed for elementary students in Grades 3-5. Students build models from color-coded beams, plates, gears, pulleys, wheels and pins, then bring them to life with a Brain, a battery, a switch, three motors, an Eye Sensor, an LED Bumper and an electromagnet. Builds are programmed with VEXcode GO, a block-based coding environment, and the kit is supported by standards-aligned STEM Labs, the STEM Library, build instructions and printable classroom resources. Students explore engineering and design thinking, coding and computational thinking, physical science, and math and data in project-based activities. Parts arrive pre-sorted in clear-lidded, stackable storage, which keeps classroom setup and clean-up simple. The battery uses rechargeable lithium iron cells, charges via USB-C in about 2.5 hours and is designed to last a full classroom day. No prior robotics experience is needed to start teaching.

    VEX GO Classroom Bundle – Small / Medium / Large (5 / 10 / 15 robots)

The VEX GO Classroom Bundle equips a full elementary class (Grades 3-5) to build and code with VEX GO. It comes in three sizes: Small (269-7778) with 5 robots for up to 10 students, Medium (269-7777) with 10 robots for up to 20 students, and Large (269-7779) with 15 robots for up to 30 students. The Small bundle contains 5 GO Education Kits with Storage, 12 field walls, extra pin tools, a carrying bag for the kits, a field carrying bag, a spare parts bin with GO Parts Packs A, B and C plus a multi-port USB cable, a charging hub and a poster. The Medium and Large bundles multiply these contents to match the class size. Students work in pairs or small groups on engineering, coding, physical science and math activities, programming their builds with VEXcode GO. The bundle includes standards-aligned STEM Labs and classroom-ready resources, and it is designed for easy setup, organized storage and repeated classroom use. No prior robotics experience is required.

VEX IQ Robot Kit (2nd generation)

The VEX IQ Robot Kit (2nd generation), sold as the VEX IQ Education Kit (228-8899), is a single-robot kit that builds coding and engineering confidence for students in Grades 5-8. It uses reusable, snap-together plastic parts, so students can design, build and rebuild robots without tools. The electronics include a Robot Brain, a Controller, a rechargeable Robot Battery, four Smart Motors, a Touch LED, a Bumper Switch, an Optical Sensor, a Distance Sensor and a set of Smart Cables. These are combined with beams, plates, gears, sprockets and chain, shafts, wheels and connectors for a wide range of mechanisms. Students program their robots with VEXcode and work through standards-aligned STEM Labs, practicing engineering design and collaborative problem solving. The robot battery charges over USB-C in about two hours and lasts a full classroom day, and the kit can later be upgraded to the Competition Kit with the Education-to-Competition Upgrade Kit.
