Super Magnet Lab Kit – 119 pcs

The Learning Resources Super Magnet Lab Kit (LER2064) is a 119-piece set for hands-on exploration of magnetism. It is designed for classroom use and can accommodate up to 25 students, while also suiting home-school settings. The kit contains 100 colorful magnetic chips, 7 magnetic wands, 5 magnetic marbles, 2 metal bar magnets, 2 metal ring magnets, 2 mini metal horseshoe magnets and 1 large plastic horseshoe magnet. All magnets are encased in durable plastic, and everything packs into a sturdy storage box. A Teacher's Guide with activity cards provides experiments on attraction, repulsion and magnetic properties. Students test and compare different magnet types, and the wands make cleanup quick by sweeping up stray chips.

    Magnetic Lab Science Kit

The Galt Explore & Discover Magnetic Lab introduces young learners to magnetism through 10 hands-on experiments. Children make a racing car move without touching it, create rattlesnake sounds with magnets, perform a levitation trick, design mazes for magnetic marbles and make funny hairy faces. Each activity shows a different property of magnets, such as attraction, repulsion and how magnetic force acts at a distance, and the kit needs no batteries. The Magnetic Lab won the 2019 Progressive Preschool Award for Best Preschool STEM Range. The experiments are short and playful, which makes the kit a good fit for early primary science lessons on forces, small-group investigation stations or after-school STEM clubs, where children can predict, test and talk about what they observe.

    Body Lab Science Kit

The Galt Body Lab explores how the human body works through 14 experiments. Students listen to a heartbeat with a real stethoscope, measure the air in their lungs, test muscle memory, check the strength of hair, analyse fingerprints and look at good and bad bacteria on the skin. The kit includes a stethoscope, two petri dishes, gloves, swabs, a tape measure, syringe, tubing, vegetarian gelatine, a fingerprint ink pad with ID sheets, a magnifying glass, reusable bone and organ stickers, skeleton and organ cards, a digestive system poster, a notepad and a 32-page lab book. The kit won the 2019 Progressive Preschool Award for Best Preschool STEM Range. It suits primary science lessons on the human body and is intended for use with adult supervision.

    Space Lab

The Galt Explore & Discover Space Lab introduces young scientists to astronomy through 12 hands-on experiments. Students build glow-in-the-dark constellation models, make a working telescope, launch their own rocket, experiment with shadows, mix galaxy slime and set up a glowing solar system in their room. The kit includes 22 glow stars with 46 connectors, 10 constellation straws, a rocket bottle with fins, nose cone, stopper and valve, galaxy slime powder, three telescope lenses, an A3 constellation guide, glow planet stickers, printed card pieces, a notepad and a 24-page full-color lab book. The Space Lab won the 2019 Progressive Preschool Award for Best Preschool STEM Range and is described as compatible with the UK National Curriculum, making it a practical resource for primary space and light topics.

    Science Magic

4M KidzLabs Science Magic asks a simple question: is it magic or is it science? The kit contains 20 tricks that students can perform for friends and family, using everyday objects and principles from magnetism, mathematics and apparent mind reading, and each trick reveals the science behind the effect. The set includes items such as a specially designed screw cap, straws, metal washers, a plastic cup, a suction tube, a mini U-shaped magnet, mini plastic boats, glow marbles, paper clips, paper strips, printed card and leaflets, and an instruction booklet. Some common household materials and scissors are also needed. The instructions include tips on practising and staging a show, so the kit works well for a class performance where students rehearse a trick and then explain to the audience how it works.

    Bubble Science

4M KidzLabs Bubble Science turns bubble play into a set of science activities. Students can blow a giant bubble that may be over a metre long, freeze a bubble that lasts for hours and use framed wands to see the geometry of bubbles, including cube and pyramid shapes. The kit contains a bubble tray, a plastic ring, coloured yarn, pyramid and cube framed wands, star and round wands, giant bubble wand sticks with stoppers, clip-on wand handles, a mouthpiece, long straws, a bottle of bubble solution and instructions. Recipes are provided for mixing extra solution from detergent and household items. The activities are best done outdoors and with adult supervision. They support simple lessons on surface tension, shape and air, and the kit has received awards including a 2012 Parents' Choice Silver Award.

    Hybrid Solar-Powered Solar System

The 4M Hybrid Solar-Powered Solar System (00-03416) is a build-it-yourself planetarium in which the planets orbit the Sun. Students assemble the frames, spindle and arms, gearbox, motor and solar panel, then place the Sun and the eight planets on the arms. A switch selects the power source: in sunlight the solar panel drives the motor, and when there is not enough light the model runs on one AAA battery, which is not included. A small crosshead screwdriver is also needed for assembly. The instructions explain how solar cells turn light into electricity, how gears slow the motor down, what an orrery is, and how the model differs from reality, since real planets orbit at different speeds. This makes the kit a useful link between space science and energy lessons.

    Dig a Glow Dinosaur

4M KidzLabs Dig a Glow Dinosaur gives students a small excavation project. A glow-in-the-dark dinosaur figure is buried in a plaster block, and learners use the included digging tool to scrape away the plaster carefully until the dinosaur is free, then clean off the remaining dust. Each block contains one of six mystery dinosaurs: Tyrannosaurus rex, Velociraptor, Parasaurolophus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus or Apatosaurus. After charging the figure under any light source, it glows in the dark, and it can be recharged again and again. The kit introduces the patience and care that real fossil digs require. Several kits used together let a class compare the different dinosaurs uncovered, making it a simple hands-on starter for lessons on fossils and prehistoric life.
